On November 11th Mixed will be hosting a Poetry SLAM. This event will be used to give students a platform to express their identity through the use of the spoken word. Part of the event will be used for students who would like to compete in our poetry slam. Grand prize $100. You DO NOT need to memorize your piece. Judges will be Judging based on Articulation, Modulation ( Volume), Appropriate use of dramatization, Word play, & Stage Presence. Information about the specifics of judging will come as we get closer to the date.
The second part will be used for walk-ins and people who have rsvp's for the event as an "open-mic performer". Performers include skits, monologues, dance, music artists. We ask that all performance be UNDER 5:00 minutes. If you would like to be part of the OPEN-MIC please fill out this form below.
