  • National Conference for Women Leaders

NCCWSL is an annual conference sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) focused on developing successful female leaders. Women gather from throughout the nation to discuss and learn about contemporary issues facing leaders. At NCCWSL, you will attend workshops, hear from some of today’s most inspirational women, and have the opportunity to network with professionals, graduate schools and many others. But the best experiences and lessons will most likely be learned from other conference attendees you will meet – people from different places who have unique experiences and viewpoints. Last year, the conference hosted Roxane Gay among others as keynote speakers. Past participants favorite sessions consisted of “Careers that do Good,” “Queer Core: An Identity Open Mic,” “Nursing, Medicine and Medical Research” and “Radically Unfinished: A Session on Women’s Confidence.” Last year's participant, Brittany, stated that “I walked away feeling empowered in my confidence and my ability to succeed. It was refreshing to be in rooms with women that aim to change the world…”

Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Preference will be given to students who will be enrolled at UConn for the 2020-21 academic year. The Women's Center will cover the registration fee and travel. Lodging and most meals are covered as part of the registration fee.
