Speech Perception in Adults – Human Subjects Requested

Volunteers are wanted for a research study at the University of Connecticut.  The purpose of this study is to examine language processing in individuals with and without language impairment. English adults (18-35 years of age) who are monolingual are invited to participate.  The research takes place in 1-2 sessions that are approximately 1-2 hours long at the UConn Laboratory for Spoken Language Processing on the Storrs campus.  Participants will listen to speech sounds or read words on a screen and will be asked to indicate what they hear or see. Participants may also complete language assessments and a questionnaire. Participants will receive monetary compensation for participation and will also be provided with scores on standardized language tests if requested.
