This Sunday, October 27th, from 10am - 2pm the UConn American Fisheries Society will be hosting their first Learn to Fish/Fishing Derby event in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) fisheries division. The event will be held at the Mansfield Training Ponds on Depot Campus (Right across Route 44 from the Allyn Larrabee Brown Building - Use the address 201 Middle Turnpike, Storrs, CT).
We have HEAVILY stocked the pond with 200-300 rainbow trout, so there should be plenty of fish for everyone to catch, including beginners!
Fishing rods, tackle, and bait will be provided, or bring your own! NO FISHING LICENSE NECESSARY. There will be a FREE raffle for fishing tackle and equipment for everyone that attends. Opportunities to catch trout, largemouth bass, chain pickerel, and sunfish!
