Dear UConn Community,
The French section of the LCL Department would like to invite you to our annual French Film Festival! This year’s theme is “French Cinema is Making a Splash”. Each film of our three-night festival includes an element of water.
Tonight's movie: Welcome
Bilal, a young Kurdish boy from Iraq, dreams of crossing the English Channel from France to meet his girlfriend. After being caught with other immigrants and brought back to France, he is offered refuge by Simon, a French swim coach going through a divorce who offers to help him learn to swim and make the journey across the English Channel.
All are welcome, even if you don’t speak French! All films will be subtitled, so feel free to bring your friends, family, roommates, and anyone who would like to enjoy three FREE evenings of French films and FOOD!
This fantastique cinematic experience will include crêpes, snacks, and beverages. But wait, there’s more! We will also have games, discussions, and prizes!
We hope to see you for our second movie in the School of Nursing (STRS)!
Merci beaucoup!
