UConn will be offering a free flamenco concert/lecture entitled: "Al-Andalus, a Musical Journey" on Monday, October 14 at 5pm.
Join flamenco guitarist Oscar Herrero (Madrid) and Prof. Nicola Carpentieri (Arabic and Islamic Studies, UConn), for a journey into the fascinating music and culture of Andalusia. Enjoy a world-class flamenco guitar show and come to discover the rich culture that Muslims, Jews and Christians shaped together in medieval Spain.
The event will take place at the Dodd Research Center - Konover auditorium, from 5pm until about 6.30pm. This is a Honors event, but it is open for all, both UConn students and external guests.
