    "Witchcraft in Connecticut: Past & Present Persecution of the 'Other'" is a free, multi-faceted program. It features a talk by Cynthia Wolfe Boynton, author of Connecticut Witch Trials: The First Panic in the New World, and President of the CT chapter of N.O.W.; dramatic poetry readings by four state poets of their books on witch persecution; a panel including State Historian, author and UCONN Prof. Walter Woodward and UCONN Prof. Em. Lawrence Goodheart that discusses CT history, and current persecution of women of color, LGBTQ community members, immigrants and others; and a participatory Wiccan Samhain ritual offered by playwright and priestess Suzanne Wingrove. The main sponsor for the event is UCONN-Hartford. Co-sponsors are the Departments of English and History, the Women’s Studies Program, and The Women’s Center.
