  • 10/2 Patrick Kennedy: Mental Health, Addiction Recovery

Join us in the Konover Auditorium of the Dodd Center at 4 pm - 5:30 pm to listen to Former Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy (D-RI) speak on how "Mental Health is Essential Health."

Mr. Kennedy is a lifelong mental health advocate and served as a Commissioner on the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. He is the founder of The Kennedy Forum, a convening think tank focused on mental health and addiction policy. Mr. Kennedy is pushing for full enforcement of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. He was the lead sponsor of this groundbreaking legislation, which requires health plans cover mental health, eating disorders, and addiction care health benefits the same way they cover physical health benefits.

There will be a reception to follow. Visit https://thedoddcenter.uconn.edu/2019/08/20/oct-2-2019-patrick-kennedy-on-mental-health-and-addiction-recovery/ for more details.
