    OPIM 3223 – Advanced Business Application Development (VR Development) 

    This course covers structured and object-oriented programming methodologies for developing business applications in the C# language and Unity VR engine. Program design techniques and logic emphasized. Students participate in a business application design and virtual reality implementation project.

    OPIM 3777 – IT Security, Governance, and Audit 

    This course covers the business risks arising from digital information processing and identifies ways to prevent, detect, and mitigate negative consequences of information security breaches. Students will be introduced to the basic principles of information security and its role in reducing information risk exposure. We will explore the role of information technology governance in business organizations and discuss important relevant laws. Students will then study the process of information systems audit utilizing VMware as a sandbox for testing and  IT audit tools like Splunk to help in detection and prevention of fraud.  

    OPIM 3804 – Data Visualization      

    This course will explore techniques and best practices in visualizing data using Microsoft Excel as a starting point.   From simple cross tabs to more complex multi-dimensional analysis, we will explore why particular data visualizations can better illustrate patterns and correlations inherent in the data itself.  By utilizing the Tableau software platform we will examine advanced visualization techniques though the use of parameters, filters, calculated variables, color, space and motion. We will also examine the use of dashboards to quickly reveal data-driven information that has daily relevance to executives, managers, supervisors and line personnel.   

    OPIM 3805 – Gamification for Business (UX / UI Design) 

    Gamification is the concept of applying game mechanics and design to engage and motivate people to achieve their goals. Gamification uses people’s natural desires of competition, achievement, status, altruism, and competition to achieve some greater benefit out of a process, application, or training scenario. Future business leaders will need to understand how gamification can be applied to improve user experiences (UX) and interface design.(UI) This course is designed to apply the best practices of design thinking in an innovative environment, analyze the application of gamification in real world environments to improve engagement, and construct prototypes using the Marvel App platform.
