On Campus Job Opportunities

  • 9/8 Be a Fraternity & Sorority Community Ambassador

The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Development is looking to hire Community Ambassador(s) for the academic year! We have an opening for Marketing Communications and an anticipated opening for Educational Initiatives

Community Ambassadors act as informal CFSD ambassadors throughout the UConn fraternity and sorority community.  Through working closely with CFSD professional staff, ambassadors are encouraged to continuously re-evaluate their fraternity and sorority involvement.  The more engaged students are in their fraternity/sorority identity development, the more positive their experience is and the more likely they will spread that positivity to their individual organizations.

    Personal and professional identity development

Our hope is for community ambassadors to complete their experience with a heightened self-awareness of their personal and professional identity.  Additional work experience and personal reflection are incorporated into the ambassadors’ employment.

    Qualifications:

The CFSD is seeking hardworking undergraduate students who are self-motivated, team-oriented individuals.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Initiated member of a CFSD recognized fraternity or sorority and adhere to the mission and vision of CFSD
    2. Available to work an average of 10 hours per week throughout the academic year (not including university holidays or university breaks)
    3. Full-time undergraduate student at UConn-Storrs with a minimum 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA
    4. Excellent team-oriented interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional demeanor
    5. Capacity to work independently and contribute to team goals with minimal direction or supervision
    6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) across cultural boundaries and establish positive and inclusive working relationships with a diverse constituency
    7. Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours, including some nights, weekends, and holidays to support department and university-wide programs and initiatives (Arête Awards, Open Houses, etc.)
    8. Strong knowledge and familiarity with the use of personal computers and basic software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher), the Google Suite, and various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
