    UCONN FOOTBALL TO HOLD WALK-ON TRYOUTS


    The UConn Football program is looking for walk-on candidates and will hold an informational
    meeting on Monday, August 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the Burton Family Football Complex.
    Interested candidates must meet the following requirements in order to participate in the

    UConn Football Walk-On Tryouts:

    1. Accepted and enrolled as a full-time student (12 credits undergraduate; 9 credits graduate) at the Storrs campus
    2. NCAA / UConn Compliance Paperwork
      1. Request by emailing Director of Player Personnel, michael.zyskowski@uconn.edu
    3. Must have athletic eligibility remaining within their five-year clock. It is recommended that walk-on candidates register and get certified with the NCAA Eligibility Center by visiting www.eligibilitycenter.org
    4. Complete medical paperwork (forms and the UConn Athletics walk-on try out policy can be found at the following link: https://uconnhuskies.com/sports/2018/6/12/school-bio-sports-medicine-tryoutshtml.aspx
      1. Copy of a standard medical physical that has been performed within 6 months of the August 28, 2019 tryout.
      2. Proof / lab report results for the Sickle Cell Solubility Test. These results are required per NCAA Rules regardless of your ethnicity/race
      3. Proof of Health Insurance Card / Policy #
    5. UConn Issued Student ID

    IF YOU CANNOT PRODUCE THE ABOVE INFORMATION, YOU
    WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS.

    Students are required to return completed medical and NCAA compliance forms, as well as a
    copy of their Fall 2019 schedule by 12:00 pm on Friday, August 23, 2019. Please scan & email all
    information back to Michael Zyskowski, Director of Player Personnel.

    For those with approved academic, compliance, and medical paperwork, the tryout will be on
    Wednesday August 28th in the morning.

    The tryout consists of height/weight measurement, vertical jump, bench press max reps (185
    lbs. / 225 lbs. as you prefer), and timing in the 40. Position specific drills may be tested upon the coaches' request.
