The UConn Marching Band is the largest student organization on campus, with almost 300 members across over 100 majors. While some of our students come from active high school marching band programs, about 25% of our members come in with little to no marching experience. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that enables every member to achieve excellence.
We are welcoming musicians in every section of the 2019 UCMB, especially brass, bass guitar, and color guard.
Are you interested? Fill out our 2019 Membership Application and don’t forget to enroll in MUSI 1108-001 (Grad Level: MUSI 5305-001). Participation in the UConn Marching Band qualifies musicians for consideration in the Spring Pep Band, which travels with the UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams!

If you are interested in joining the Fall Pep Band please fill out the Interest Form. We are accepting members in every instrument, but are especially in need of electric and bass guitarists. Placement auditions for rhythm players will be held in the fall. All wind positions are open. If you have any questions about participation in Fall Pep Band feel free to contact jessica.von_villas@uconn.edu.
Joining the band is one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of our members’ college careers. Students are provided with a plethora of social and academic support from the directors and fellow members. UConn band members are among some of the brightest minds on campus, and their academic achievements are a true testament to the culture of success and excellence that we believe in.
