  • 5/14 IBACS Film Series: Open to the Public

The Institute for the Brain and Cognitive Sciences is holding our annual two-day Meet and Speak event next week on May 14th and 15th. The UConn Reserach community is invited to attend our film presentation on Tuesday, the 14th, at 4pm in Oak Hall 101. We will be premiering a series of six short 2-3 minute films produced by Tim Miller, from the Department of Digital Media and Design, profiling scientists affiliated with the Institute. This event will be open to the public. Tim will speak about the challenges of translating science into film, and each of his protagonists will speak about how the filming process influenced their own thinking about how to communicate science. The presentation will showcase a small selection of the science we support, as well as the individuals making that science happen. The film segments are intended as the outward face of our research endeavors, and will be posted on a dedicated YouTube channel, on ibacs.uconn.edu, and on individual research labs’ websites. This is part of a continuing collaboration with Digital Media and Design. We hope you can join us for what should be a very exciting event.
