Volunteer Opportunities

  • CT Partnership Against Drugs Volunteer Opportunity

A newly founded student organization called C.P.A.D, Connecticut Partnership Against Drugs. C.P.A.D is a student run organization, whose mission is to spread knowledge on the opioid epidemic.

On Tuesday April 23th at 12:15 and Friday April 26th in the late afternoon into early evening, we are leading groups of students out to neighborhoods in West Hartford and Willimantic to distribute informative pamphlets/ brochures about drug take back drop boxes and the national drug take back day. 1 in 20 young adults use opioids for too long after surgeries and even those who do not will typically store the remainder in their cabinet perpetuating the 70% of people misusing opioids who gain access to these drugs from family and friends.  The national drug take back is an event organized by state and local police stations that works to reduce the amount of unused/unnecessary prescription pills in households. This is not only good for the environment, but prevents the prescription pills from being used irresponsibly.
