The blight of food insecurity and poverty among college students is real. On April 17th, UConn Rising Scholars Program Coordinator Alex Katz will be speaking on her personal experiences and her research regarding poverty issues at the “Voices on Poverty” event. This event, presented by UConnPIRG’s Hunger and Homelessness campaign, will be taking place in Austin 434 at 7 p.m. and also feature Wawa Gatheru, co-founder of the UConn Access Food Effort.
