The annual "Give-A-Meal” will take place tonight, Wednesday, April 10, from 4:15-7:15pm in all eight residential dining units.
Each student may swipe their meal card one time. By giving a flex pass, you will be donating $2.50 (raw food cost*) towards:
- No Freeze Shelter - Willimantic
- UConn Community Outreach - alternative break transportation funding
- Division of Student Affairs, Students First Fund - Monies donated to this fund will be specifically allocated to go towards a new campus-wide venture aimed at meeting the needs of students who are struggling with food insecurity.
*Dining Services is a self-supporting operation. Meal costs are established based on food costs and Dining Services’ overhead. Since dining facilities remain open, operations still incur overhead costs. Calculations have determined raw food costs to be $2.50 per person per meal. Give-A-Meal is a combined effort of the Department of Dining Services and Community Outreach.
