  • 3/30 Pre-Register for UConn's Global Health Conference

    UConn’s 2nd annual Global Health Symposium "Winning the Birth Lottery: Globalization and Health" will be held on March 30th, 2019 at the Student Union. It is open to the student body and will feature leading scholars in global health, a panel on refugee health, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide and her story, and a live birth lottery simulation. The engaging conference, which will take place from 9AM-3:30PM will be delving into how the location where an individual is born largely determines his/her access to healthcare through political, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. Professor Sarah S. Willen, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor of UConn Anthropology, will deliver a keynote address in the Student Union Theatre on the birth lottery through the lens of both the United States and the Middle East. Students will not only be able to directly engage with global health opportunities, but also, will be exposed to pertinent student research and organizations.
