Volunteer Opportunities

  • Interested in teaching health lessons in Spanish?

If you are interested in volunteering once a week with local medically underserved populations, consider applying to Collegiate Health Service Corps! We are looking for a Spanish-speaking translator who would be available on Mondays 11:45am-1:15pm to teach and translate health lessons. If you are interested, please email uconn.co.chsc@gmail.com.

Collegiate Health Service Corps (CHSC) is a Community Outreach program functioning under Area Health Education Center (AHEC) that seeks to connect pre-professional students with local medically underserved populations in order to provide culturally competent, educational health lessons. We reach out to several different sites including Pride's Corner Farm (a migrant worker farm), Covenant Soup Kitchen, an after school program, and community centers. We have a dual mission of working with local populations to provide effective resources and preventative health lessons as well as exposing undergraduate or post-graduate students to medically underserved individuals.
