  • Want to be a Radio News Anchor?

Join The WHUS Radio News Department

Are you a journalism student interested in getting experience “in the field”? Do you want to write and publish stories for the Husky community? Are you a fan of photography and want a chance to publish those photos? Do you want to learn how to use a soundboard and see what the WHUS radio station is all about?

Join the WHUS News Department! We encourage you to take on a story and learn the whole process of being a news reporter from reporting and writing to recording and publishing.

Never taken a class in journalism? No problem!

Any student is welcome to come and learn.

Really not into writing? That’s okay!

Feel free to join as a photographer or perhaps you just want to read the stories and work on your news anchor voice.

Become a co-host for our weekly FM broadcast, Husky Nation News, every Friday morning from 10 AM - 10:30 AM.

Whatever you want to work on, we welcome you to our department.

Meetings are weekly, every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the WHUS radio station big room, located in the student union, room 412. If this time doesn’t work for you, it’s still possible to be involved! Contact the email below to learn how.

Feel free to check out our news articles here as well as our Husky Nation News podcast episodes here or on the iTunes podcast app.
