You are invited to join Earthtones, the UConn World Music Vocal Ensemble, as we explore the music, history and culture of the Irish-American Experience. The program-Across the Western Ocean-includes a diversity of folk and popular songs that highlight specific historical periods, voice protest against injustices, and reflect a strong sense of pride, sense of humor and feeling of community. Some tunes are well-known, others are more obscure.
We welcome students who like to learn about history and culture through music and are eager to participate in a unique artistic experience that culminates in a multi-media performance. Instrumentalists and dancers also are welcome and encouraged to join.
Earthtones is open to all students (no auditions) and fulfills 1 credit towards the CA1 Arts and Humanities requirement. The course (FINA 1001/MUSI 1006) meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:30 in ML103. Come join us.
