  • Passing of UConn Student Attilio Hoxha

    It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of one of our students. Attilio Hoxha,  a junior Mechanical Engineering  major from Worcester, Massachusetts and Connecticut passed away on November 1, 2018.

     

    For those wishing to pay their respects, calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 6 from 4:00 – 8:00 at the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.  The funeral will be on Wednesday, November 7 at 10:00 at Our Lady of Loreto Rectory, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, Massachusetts.

     

    Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) is available to provide support to the Storrs campus community at this time of loss.  CMHS is located on the 4th floor of Arjona and their office hours are 8:30 -4:30 Monday-Thursday and Fridays from 9:00am-4:30pm. Students identified as needing support should be encouraged to either walk in during office hours or call 860-486-4705 to make an appointment. In addition, information about dealing with grief is located on the CMHS website at http://counseling.uconn.edu/dealing-with-grief/

     

    The Dean of Students Office located on the 2nd floor of Wilbur Cross is available to assist students struggling with the loss of their classmate. You may make an appointment by calling 860-486-3426 or stop in to meet with a staff member during business hours Monday – Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.
