The UConn Medieval Studies program invites you to our first event of the 2018-2019 visiting speaker series. We are proud to welcome Dr. Nahir Otaño-Gracia to present her talk "Towards a Decentered Global North Atlantic" this Friday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 pm in the Stern lounge (Austin 217). Dr. Otaño-Gracia's is a professor of Old English, Old Irish, and Old Norse literature. Her research on the medieval North Sea covers everything from Vikings to King Arthur; and her work challenges traditional concepts of "the medieval" in terms of both time and space.
