We’re pleased to announce that this coming spring CreateAT will be hosted at UConn!
“What is this thing,” you might ask, “and why do I care?”
GREAT QUESTION!
CreateAT is similar to a hackathon, but it’s for students of all majors! We are bringing together Makers; any student who is a creator, problem solver, craft enthusiast or engineer to collaborate with students with a disability, who get the title of Co-Designers. Each team will have a Co-Designer and several Makers. Together, they will:
1) Identify a regular task or obstacle in the Co-Designer’s life that could be remedied or made easier with a tool or gadget.
2) Discuss and design a prototype to fit the Co-Designer’s need.
3) Build and test the prototype in 12 hours with the Co-Designer and have an awesome time!
Not only does this look great on a resume, but there will also be prizes and free food!!
The event will be taking place in early March 2019. The sign ups will be open until November 19th, so sign up today by filling out an interest form!
