  • UCONN RHISE: Global Health Organization

Looking to get more involved this semester? Have an interest in Global Health Topics? Passionate about giving back to the community?

MISSION: Promote healthcare and education for the youth in underserved communities to enhance development and awareness.

The emphasis of UCONN RHISE is community action and public health awareness. We strive to make a difference on both a local and global scale through service and by fundraising for the organizations/ communities we serve.

Community Based Projects – Both Local and International!

    1.    United Way Read Out Loud In collaboration with United Way's after-school program, we plan an activity that will further teach the children about a public health topic and fundraise so every child can take home the book we selected and read to them!

    2.    Compass Fun, interactive activities that will teach middle-school children about health topics, and in particular, nutrition and a healthy diet!

    3.    Global Health Project This year, through our fundraising initiatives, we plan to put together care packages containing hygiene products (tooth paste, tooth brush, etc.) to send to an underserved population abroad!

MEETINGS EVERY 1st and 3rd WEEK OF THE MONTH ON TUESDAYS AT 6:15 IN THE UNION 320
