Student Organization Events & Information

  • The Undergraduate Political Review Fall 2018

    Dear UConn students,

Sponsored by the Department of Political Science, the UConn Undergraduate Political Review is a scholarly publication focused on producing diverse and thoughtful articles on ongoing political issues. As a student-run organization, the UPR is a platform for UConn students interested in these crucial debates to contribute to civic and political discourse at the university. Students of all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply, particularly those with an interest in academic writing and research, although no prior experience is required!

We are currently seeking applications for Assistant Editor and staff writer positions. Editors serve on the UPR Editorial Board and manage approximately 3-6 staff writers, assist the editor-in-chief in editing student articles and meeting with writers to discuss and refine article drafts. All editors meet on a weekly basis to discuss deadlines, articles, and ideas on specific topics.  Staff writers are expected to work with their assigned editor to improve their article over the course of the semester and present well-written pieces for review.

To apply as a staff writer, please email a CV/resume and writing sample to uconnpoliticalreview@gmail.com by Sunday, September 16th at 11:59PM.

Assistant Editors are also required to submit a resume and writing sample, in addition to completing a short supplementary application that is attached below. Please note the form requests brief responses to the questions, so please answer succinctly and honestly so that we can get a better idea of your perspective as a potential writer and/or editor. These applications also must be submitted by Sunday, September 16th at 11:59 PM, via email.
