    Be Aware, Show You Care!

UConn offers numerous suicide prevention resources, including in-person and online trainings, as well as on-call crisis support at Counseling & Mental Health Services.  We encourage all students, faculty and staff to learn more about how to recognize the warning signs and intervene when someone is struggling with mental health concerns.

UConn HELPS -- Helping Everyone Learn to Prevent Suicide

UConn HELPS is a two hour, in-person suicide prevention training which focuses on the importance of connection and communication.  Participants learn how to recognize warning signs of distress, use empathic listening techniques, and provide compassionate support to those in need.  Visit suicideprevention.uconn.edu/uconn-helps to learn more.

    Ask Listen Refer

Developed specifically for college campuses, Ask Listen Refer is an online suicide prevention training.   This brief training is available at www.asklistenrefer.org/uconn.
