WHAT: The UConn Japanese Student Association proudly presents the 4th Sakura Matsuri!
Sakura Matsuri translates to Cherry Blossom Festival, and is a centuries old Japanese tradition celebrating the beauty of the cherry blossoms in spring. This year, the festival will be held on Friday evening instead of Saturday, to create a whole different atmosphere.
There will be photo booth, art vendors, cultural games, demonstartions and food stands from a variety of student cultural organizations with a number offering menu items that are $3 or under. There will also be outside vendors, like Maruichi CT, giving out festival themed Japanese food/snacks for free.
There will be a number of feature performances during the festival as well, from both student organizations and outside Japanese artists.
Sakura Matsuri is always an amazing family-friendly** event, so make sure to bring your friends and family to have fun and create memories for spring 2018!
**Unfortunately, this event is sponsored by UConn Spring Weekend and not open to public. UConn students are free of charge, so please come with Spring Weekend 2018 wristband.**
See you there!
