  • 4/17 Metanoia Tour at UConn Spring Valley Student Farm

As part of UConn Metanoia for the Environment, UConn Spring Valley Student Farm (SVSF) is offering tours of the many environmental sustainability projects currently in progress at the farm. Tours will be offered every Tuesday, for the remainder of the spring 2018 semester, from 4:00-6:00 PM.

You are welcome to visit SVSF to learn about our new solar thermal greenhouse heating system, 1000 gallon aquaponics greenhouse growing system, regenerative soil building for climate change mitigation and view posters about the food waste to biochar and air quality sampling projects. There will be discussion about the intersection of engineering with sustainable agriculture.

A UConn community outreach transport van will leave from Werth Tower (NextGen Hall) at 3:45, to bring visitors to the farm, and return following the tour. After the tour visitors are welcome to stay and volunteer at the farm. The last van will return to campus at 6:00.
