    About Amanda:

     

    Amanda Webster is a candidate for State Representative in the 62nd district of Connecticut. She is running as a member of the Democratic Party. Already having won a primary contest, Amanda has been on the cover of TIME Magazine, is endorsed by RunForSomething, the American’s Women’s Party, and CT Women’s Political Revolution. She is on the Granby Board of Education Equity Task Force, Granby DTC, and on the executive board of the Granby PTO.

     

    Amanda was the first Democrat to run for this seat since 2010. She was the first in Connecticut to qualify for the Citizens Election Program (public financing of state elections). She is a progressive who supports universal access to health care, keeping young people in Connecticut, funding equitable education, and protecting women’s rights in both public and private spheres.

    Job Description:

     

    Amanda Webster, Democratic Candidate for State Representative, is seeking a campaign manager. The position begins in June and extends until mid-November. This is a paid, part-time position. The position is open to undergraduate and graduating students who will be in Connecticut until November. Responsibilities include:

     

    • Organizing, attending, and facilitating campaign events
    • Recruiting volunteers for door-to-door canvassing, and personally canvassing when needed
    • Providing consultation on political, communications, and field strategy
    • Researching policy and providing recommendations
    • Writing talking points, policy memos, and speeches
    • Managing social media accounts, calendar, and administrative communication
    • Organizing and supervising campaign interns

     

    Application is open to all majors. Ideal applicants have:

     

    • Previous government, policy, or campaign internships
    • Experience in social media communications
    • Demonstrated commitment to the Democratic Party or ideals
    • Access to a vehicle
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • High degree of professionalism
