  • AAUP Furlough Days

As was previously announced, full-time AAUP employees are required to take 3 unpaid furlough days during the 2018 fiscal year. Adjuncts will not be subject to furlough days. Part-time AAUP employees will have their 3 unpaid days pro-rated. The value of the 3 furlough days will be deducted incrementally, effective August 18, 2017, for the remaining 21 pay periods for the fiscal year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018).

The University is urging supervisors to be flexible in approving an employee’s request for furlough time. Supervisors must consider the department’s business needs in determining when employees observe their furlough time.  All furlough time needs to be taken before June 30, 2018.

In the meantime, questions regarding pay reduction calculations can be addressed to Seth Jodoin in Payroll at seth.jodoin@uconn.edu.  Questions regarding the collective bargaining agreements and furlough day requirements can be addressed to Jessa Mirtle in Labor Relations at (860) 486-4373, or Jessa.mirtle@uconn.edu
