  • Blog Series on Practical Uses of Tech in Class

"Not on the Syllabus", a blog on college instruction that was founded in connection with the Graduate Certificate in College Instruction recently published a series of blog posts on innovative uses of technology in the classroom that are full of practial ideas for instructors.

In the first post, PhD student Marc Reyes discussed how he uses Twitter to drive student participation. In the second, PhD student Emma Bjorngard-Basayne provides three ways to elicit the traditionally unheard voices in the classroom with Twitter, Google Docs, and email. In the third and latest, student PhD Sarah Meyers tells how she learned to use video recordings of student presentation to resolve grading issues and provide better feedback.
