CHIN1111 and 1112 Elementary Chinese I and II will help you develop skills in Mandarin Chinese to communicate across ethnic, cultural, ideological and national boundaries and to develop an understanding of Chinese interpersonal behavioral culture and related thought patterns. You will be expected to perform in speaking, listening, reading and writing Chinese at a level of proficiency appropriate for continuing on to the next level in our curriculum. You should also demonstrate a level of cultural understanding suitable for correct performance of assigned tasks in Chinese.
These two courses will be offered in a hybrid way: online and group meetings. You will finish first year Chinese sequence within 10 weeks.
Chinese 1111: Summer session 1 May 30-June30
Chinese 1112: Summer session 2 July 10-Aug11
