  • "Not Anymore" Program Draws Praise in Debut

The UConn Division of Student Affairs is receiving positive feedback from students on a new program it has launched to provide critical information about increasing their own safety and that of their peers on campus.

“Not Anymore,” an online video-based program, launched at UConn in February and has been completed as required by more than 7,800 juniors and seniors at Storrs and the regional campuses. All students must complete the course before they can register for their junior year, or when they transfer to UConn from another institution as an incoming junior or senior.

The program builds on safety education that is provided in orientation for new students and First-Year Experience Programs, helping ensure they receive information and support throughout their undergraduate careers.

It focuses on consent, bystander intervention, sexual assault prevention, domestic and dating violence, stalking, and other issues.

Many students who took the course said in feedback to Student Affairs that it was informative and thorough, and that they appreciated having a refresher training as juniors to reinforce what they had learned about the topics when they came to UConn.

Student Affairs worked with the Undergraduate Student Government to implement the program, which it selected with input from numerous students in campus organizations who helped University officials review similar training programs.

Student Affairs also partnered with University Information & Technology Services, the UConn Registrar’s Office, the Office of Institutional Equity, the UConn Women’s Center, The Graduate School, and UConn Hartford.
