    UConn Saxophone Quartet

The UConn Saxophone Quartet chamber ensemble will be performing at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, beginning at 8:00 pm on Friday, April 7. In addition to being a skillful collective of graduate and undergraduate UConn students, performing as a quartet boasts a remarkably unique sound thanks to the four different styles of the instrument; the result is a harmonious embodiment of true musicianship. The concert will also utilize a multifaceted repertoire of celebrated works spanning time periods and distinctive composers, from the historically renowned Henry Fillmore, to the contemporary Marc Mellits. Additionally, the emotion-driven String Quartet No. 8 by Dimitri Shostakovich will serve as the heart of the show.

Tickets are free for all. UConn’s von der Mehden Recital Hall is located at 875 Coventry Rd in Storrs, across from Mirror Lake on the UConn campus. Plenty of free, well-lit parking is available just across the street. Please contact Greg Case at greg.case@uconn.edu for more information.
