The campus-wide fire alarm system will be tested (except for building C, H, T and F) today, between 5 this afternoon and 10 this evening.
Buildings C, H, T and F tests will be conducted tomorrow, April 5, between 7 and 8 a.m.
This acceptance testing is being conducted by Simplex, our fire alarm contractor, the UConn Health Fire Department, and the UConn Fire Marshal as required by code.
A test message will be announced preceding the start of testing. Sounding of the audible alarm will be kept to a minimum and is anticipated to last a few minutes. Once the audible alarm is tested it will be silenced during the balance of testing. The visual alarm (strobe lights) will also be tested at this time. In the unlikely event there is an actual fire alarm, the system will convert to normal operation.
