Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in the Workplace: Orientation Sessions

The scientifically-based training known as Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program in living well under stressful conditions. As taught in MBSR, the practices have been shown to support anyone overwhelmed by personal and/or work stress. Weekly sessions and daily home practices help participants to train the mind and body through various practices to become calmer and clearer, allowing people to react to stress less and engage in life more.  Published research has shown that mindfulness training is also highly effective when combined with conventional medical treatment for many disorders. Thousands of people report that the course helped to reduce chronic pain, headache, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, over-eating, and negative thinking. Participants also report improvement in relationships, vitality, and a greater sense of well-being.

To register, choose only one of the Orientation sessions scheduled for Thursday, March 30th and Monday, April 3rd at 12 Noon. The course will be hosted by Counseling and Mental Health Services in Room 403, Arjona.  The 1-hour Orientation will provide information about the course, and an opportunity to formally register. The 8-week course will begin on Thursday, April 6th. For more information please contact Dr. Jeanne Joseph Chadwick at mindbody0701@gmail.com or 860 712-7512.
