    12/1 Illuminations

Wind Ensembles Presents “Illuminations”. Jeffrey Renshaw, Conductor. 8PM, von der Mehden Recital Hall.

As the semester draws to a close, come to the von der Mehden Recital Hall for a night of enchantment. Said night will begin with a performance of Viet Cuong’s “Moth”, a piece inspired by the dualities of the “moth to the flame” narrative. Next, the Wind Ensemble will perform Steve Danyew’s “Lauda”, a two-part piece exploring religion, both ancient and modern. After the intermission, we shall close out the night with a performance of Joseph Schwantner’s “Luminosity: Concerto for Wind Orchestra”, a three-part finale that explores the gambit of musical influences. The performance will be held at the von der Mehden Recital Hall, 175 Coventry Rd., Storrs on December 1st. General admission is $10. Students and children are free. Plenty of free, well-lit parking across the street.
