2016 Provost’s Awards for Excellence in Public Engagement Nominations

Deadline Extended to Wednesday, October 12, 2016

The University community is invited to participate in the nomination process for the 2016 Provost’s Awards for Excellence in Public Engagement. Engaged Scholarship, Community Partnerships and Community-based Learning combine to form Public Engagement; an essential component of the land-grant mission of the University of Connecticut.

This event and the awards are a celebration and recognition of the work of our faculty, staff and students who successfully integrate public engagement into their academic, research and service programs thereby maximizing the University’s impact on the communities with whom it engages.

There are up to six awards and the categories are: Tenure-track faculty members, Non-Tenure track faculty members, undergraduate students, advanced degree students, and staff. In addition, there will be an award dedicated to a person or team who has demonstrated on a longstanding basis the importance and value of Public Engagement to their professional activities as well that of their colleagues, staff, students and partners.

Self-nominations will be accepted. For complete information about the nomination process go to: 2016 Provost Awards. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Selected awardees will receive recognition at the Excellence in Public Engagement Reception on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. at the Benton Museum of Art.
