    Title of Study:
Jealousy, touch, and attachment in different relational populations

    IRB Protocol #: X16-093

You are invited to participate in this survey regarding how jealousy and attachment styles vary across populations based on relationship type. I am a graduate student at the University of Connecticut, and I am conducting this survey as part of my course work. I am interested in finding out more about how relational partners experience jealousy when seeing their significant other engaging in various touch communication with a friend of the opposite sex.

Your participation in this study will require you to view a series of pictures and imagine your current or most recent serious relational partner as one of the people in the picture. You will then be asked to answer a series of questions about your thoughts and feelings. You will also be asked a series of questions about yourself and your relationship. Some questions may be very personal or sensitive. You do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to; however, the more thoroughly and honestly you answer the questions asked, the more helpful your responses will be. Your participation will be anonymous and individual survey responses cannot be traced back to you personally.

You will not be paid for being in this study, but if you choose to provide an email address at the end of the survey, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Amazon gift certificate. You will be redirected to a separate webpage to enter your email address, and the winner will be drawn by a third party that does not have access to the survey results.

You do not have to be in this study if you do not want to be. We believe this study does not involve any risk to you. Although you may find it interesting to participate in this study, there will be no direct benefit to you from your participation.
This should take about 15 minutes of your time. You cannot be identified by any of information you provide, and your answers to the questions will not be used for any purposes beyond this study.

I will be happy to answer any questions you have about this study. If you have further questions about this project or if you have a research-related problem, you may contact me, Karen Piantek (the student), at karen.piantek@uconn.edu or my advisor, Ross Buck at ross.buck@uconn.edu.
