Additional UConn Information

  • Connecticut State Employee Campaign for Charity

Dear UConn friend and fellow worker,

It’s October 3rd and the start of a new CT State Employee Charitable Campaign (CSEC).  We’d like to start by thanking all of you that participated last year.  We had many returning donors as well as new employees joining in the 2015 Campaign.  Most employees donated through the new online giving option and found it to be easy to use.  We hope you will join us again and hope you will encourage your work colleagues to participate as well.

The CSEC Campaign is your once-a-year opportunity to sign up and donate through payroll deduction to any one of more than 700 non-profit charities.   You also have the option to give a one-time donation.  Many of us choose local charities, such as the Covenant Soup Kitchen, the Hole in the Wall Camp or Foodshare.  Others choose based on the type of charity; shelter for the homeless, environmental preservation, medical research to find cures for a particular disease or care for children, the elderly or for animals. Whatever you choose, together, our Connecticut State Employee donations enable a vast network of non-profit agencies to carry out very important work.

Last year, 239 UConn Storrs employees, a mere 5% of our employee population, donated $115,313.  This year, we hope to extend our level of commitment and strive to reach 10% UConn Storrs employee participation.

The Campaign runs from October 3rd to December 22nd.  Payroll deductions are spread out over 26 pay periods beginning with the first pay period in 2017.  Visit the Website (www.employeegiving.ct.gov), to view the directory and choose the charity or charities important to you.  You may still follow the link to the print donation form.  If you choose the paper option, please fax your form to Paula at 860-486-0379 or email it to paula.enderle@uconn.edu.

New this year! We will be visiting UConn Schools and Departments across campus for participant group photos with Jonathan.  Will your Department or School have the largest group? More information to follow.

It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s a chance to be a part of the UConn community doing something big and vital.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions by calling or emailing Paula Enderle at 860-486-8478 or paula.enderle@uconn.edu.  Or you may visit our website: www.csec.uconn.edu.

We look forward to working with you.

Thank you for your support in making this year’s campaign a big success.
