    CETL Workshop

    Providing an opportunity for faculty, graduate students, and professional staff to gather with colleagues to listen, discuss, comment, interact and reflect on a variety of topics to enhance teaching and learning.

    The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning offers the following workshop:

    Working with International Students
    Cynthia Deroma, CETL – Faculty Development Programs
    As the international student population at UConn grows, instructors sometimes worry about how to help these students take full advantage of their courses. In this session, participants will have a chance to voice their concerns and learn more about:
    – the academic, linguistic, and bureaucratic requirements for admission;
    – challenges many of these students face, especially in their freshman year;
    – what they can do to support international students in their classes without lowering standards;
    – resources offered by UConn.

    Tueday, October 4th
    2:00-4:00pm
