Our goal is  to address collective impact as a guiding foundation; roles & responsibilities of anchor institutions in neighborhood revitalization & development; and strategies to maximize the impact of anchor institutions, particularly higher education and health care agencies

Our Collective Impact Presenter:

Ryan Fewins-Bliss is the Deputy Director for Community Investment at the Michigan College Access Network.

 

Our Keynote Speaker:

Ira Harkavy is Associate Vice President and founding Director of the Barbara and Edward Netter Center for Community Partnerships, University of Pennsylvania.  As Director of the Netter Center since 1992, Harkavy has helped to develop academically based community service courses and participatory action research projects that involve creating university-community partnerships and university-assisted community schools in Penn’s local community of West Philadelphia.  Harkavy teaches in history, urban studies, and Africana studies, as well as in the Graduate School of Education.

Connect on to 84 WESTBOUND:
Take the Sigourney Street EXIT 47
At the end of the exit ramp and light, go RIGHT onto Sigourney Street
Continue on Sigourney Street for .8 miles
Take a LEFT onto Homestead Avenue
Go .2 miles
Entrance on the left at the gate

FROM 84 EASTBOUND:
Take the Sisson Avenue EXIT 46
At the end of the exit ramp and light go RIGHT onto Sisson Avenue
Go to the end of Sisson Avenue and take a RIGHT onto Farmington Avenue
At the next light, take a LEFT onto Woodland Street
Go .8 miles (you will pass St. Francis Hospital on your right) and take a RIGHT onto Homestead Avenue
