Our Eversource Energy Center’s expertise in evaluating the dynamic nature of storm and hurricane developments is featured in a recent update shared with utilities and community leaders to proactively support awareness and readiness. Leveraging the UConn Outage Prediction Model among other tools, a storm’s potential impact, including the number and location of outages, is predicted in advance enabling utilities to proactively dispatch crews before storms arrive, and provide intelligence as to whether outside crews should be put on standby or called in.
