The Willimantic Athletic Club and Mansfield Advocates for Children are holding their annual 5K and kids’ track and field events on July 16, 2016. The 5K race starts at 8:30 AM at the Mansfield Community Center and follows a course through campus. Just in time for the 2016 summer Olympics, the kids’ track and field events will be led by women’s assistant track coach and 3-time Olympian Lisa Misipeka! The kids’ events begin at 9:30 at the E.O. Smith High School track, and the first 40 participants receive a t-shirt and medal. All proceeds benefit the maintenance and improvement of the Ossen Community Playground, Mansfield’s new, accessible public playground.
