  • Passing of UConn Student Ferdinand Lagos

    To the UConn Community:

    It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our students.

    Ferdinand Lagos a graduate student from Manchester, Conn., passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016.  Ferdinand was in his second year of study in the Financial Risk Management MS program.  Ferdinand was a mathematics, technology and robotics teacher at Waldwick School, a New Jersey Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Organization. Ferdinand was a wonderful classmate and friend to all students he encountered within the MSFRM Program as well as those he taught at the Waldwick School. Ferdinand was a highly motivated individual, charismatic and had a tremendous amount of respect for his colleagues, professors and FRM program.

    Ferdinand was a caring and devoted father to his two daughters Isabella and Camila, who survive him. Ferdinand is also survived by his three brothers, Wilson, Delmar, and Daniel, one sister, Emilse, and his parents, Rogelio and Alejandrina.

    Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 20th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Maranatha Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church. 447 North Main St., Manchester, CT 06108 http://maranathahispanic22.adventistchurchconnect.org/

    Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Buckland Cemetery, 1120 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester, CT 06042
