  • UConn Extension: Financial Empowerment Training

    UConn Extension Offers CFPB Financial Empowerment Training for Social Service Agency Staff

    Nationally, Cooperative Extension has again been selected by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to provide financial empowerment training this spring for social service agency staff to assist them in their work with their clients. UConn Extension will be offering training in the use of the Your Money, Your Goals Financial Empowerment Toolkit this June in Connecticut. Some of the topics to be covered include: goal setting; tracking spending; bringing cash flow into balance; getting and reviewing credit reports; reducing debt; and evaluating financial products and services among others.

    The full day training (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) will be offered on Tuesday, June 7th at the New Haven County Extension Center at 305 Skiff Street in New Haven and Wednesday, June 15th at the Middlesex County Extension Center at 1066 Saybrook Road in Haddam. Registration is required.
