  • 4/6 An Evening With Gina Barreca

    The Learning Community program is hosting an evening with Gina Barreca on Wednesday, April 6th at 6:30 PM at the UConn Co-Op Bookstore at Storrs Center. Professor Gina Barreca will be explaining the ideas, conversations and overheard lines that inspired her to write her latest book, If You Lean In, Will Men Just Look Down Your Blouse? Questions and Thoughts for Loud, Smart Women in Turbulent Times, launched by St. Martin’s Press in March of 2016. Professor of English at UConn for 28 years, Barreca has published with the NY Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Harvard Business Review, The Washington Post, The Guardian (London), The Chicago Tribune, Cosmopolitan, Psychology Today and Creative Non-Fiction. She’s appeared on 20/20, Today, CNN, the BBC and Oprah to discuss popular culture, gender and humor. She’ll be answering questions about writing, publishing and and academic life as well as reading from sections of the new work. All students, faculty and community members are welcome!
