    THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT
    African American Faculty and Staff Association Book Scholarship Application

    GENERAL INFORMATION
    The University of Connecticut African American Faculty and Staff Association Book Scholarship was established in 2013 in honor of Prof. Rollin Charles Williams, the first African American faculty member at the University. Awards will be presented on April 21, 2016.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
    The applicant must:
    • Be a current UCONN undergraduate or graduate student enrolled fulltime (fulltime enrollment requires 12 or more credits per semester) in the University and have completed a minimum of 24 credits;
    • Demonstrate strong academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent on any other scale
    • Be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
    From those candidates that meet the above criteria, priority consideration, but not absolute preference, will be given first to students who are members of a federally recognized underrepresented group, including without limitation, students of African American descent.
