  • Director of the UConn Avery Point Campus

    To the University Community:

    Dr. Joe Madaus, who has been serving as Interim Director of the Avery Point campus, has recently been named Associate Dean in the Neag School of Education. He will begin this appointment in August. We are very grateful for Joe’s creative and thoughtful leadership at Avery Point, and extremely pleased that he will continue to contribute to UConn in very important ways in his new leadership role in the Neag School. We are now launching a national search for a new Director of the Avery Point campus. The Director will report to the Provost and ensure the effective and efficient management of the campus, including overseeing administrative functions, facilities, capital and operating budgets, human resources, and day-to-day operations, with the aim of fostering a community and learning environment appropriate for a leading research university. The Director’s primary mission will be to assure the success of undergraduate education at the campus, including recruiting, retaining, and supporting students, and assuring the success of robust academic programs.

    The search committee will be chaired by Davita Glasberg, Professor of Sociology and Associate Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The members of the search committee are:
