  • Project Unbreakable Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Submissions and volunteers wanted for art and photo exhibit about issues of gender-based violence

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) is looking for survivors of gender-based violence or those who have been touched by this issue to participate in an art and photo exhibit that highlights how these issues affect UConn students. We are looking for volunteers to participate in any of the following ways by March 25th:

    • Submit art, photos, or poems about their experiences
    • Submit messages of support or encouragement to victim-survivors
    • Be photographed while holding signs with quotes or messages related to their experience with sexual or gender-based violence. (Inspired by the Project Unbreakable photo project)

The photos and artwork will be displayed together in a semi-public exhibit at the Homer Babbidge Library, set up so that only those who choose to enter the exhibit will be able to see the art and photos.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating, please email projectunbreakable@uconn.edu for more information. Please note that anyone submitting art or being photographed can choose to remain anonymous.
